Light Pole Banners 2011 - Committee Chair & Members Needed!
Share |
The Light Pole Banner subcommittee reports in to the Design Committee, chaired by Main Street board member Kate Wick.

Our 2011 lightpole banner design will feature the New London Light, in honor of the recent transfer of ownership to the New London Maritime Society, and in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the first lighthouse erected on that location.

A preliminary light pole banner design has been proposed. The Design Committee is working with Karl Smizer of Smizer Perry to finalize the design.

Volunteer Roles:
1) A Chair is needed to develop a timeline and task list, along with a budget, with the objective of reaching sales goals and getting the new light pole banners up in the spring. Do you want to practice your project management skills, connect to your community and enhance your resume at the same time? This role may be just perfect for you!

Your team will consist of volunteers responsible for banner sales, graphic design, administrative tasks and sales tracking. But we need a leader... interested?

2) Administrative roles: Manage mail campaigns to mail merge, print and mail letters; help to track banner sales orders.

The New London Main Street Light Pole Banner program renews each year with an open invitation for designs. The program allows local businesses to advertise their name in prominent places in and around the downtown area for an entire year. Light Pole Banners reach a large, diverse audience and enhance the appearance of our lively area. All profits from banner sales are an essential part of our budget to revitalize The District and finance New London Main Street events.
