An Intermodal Hub

The District is perhaps the only place in New England where ferry, bus, and train service all converge and permit walkable transfers from one to the other. Ferries to Block Island, Long Island and Fishers Island take on passengers from the fringes of Waterfront Park. Historic Union Station, served by both Amtrak and commuter rail, is a District icon that separates the waterfront from the Parade Plaza in the heart of The District. The public parking garage, with its new glass elevator and stairway leading to the Plaza help create a convenient core for travelers.
