Meet Michael Donatello of Photography by Donatello. After taking photography in high school and enjoying it, he decided to pursue the craft further. This led to him attending the Rhode Island School of Photography in Providence, a two-year technical program that focuses solely on photography.
Mr. Donatello has worked as a professional photographer for the past 16 years. He has only been located in New London for the past year, but has lived and worked in the area for the past 10-12 years. He feels that his downtown New London location is perfectly situated and provides his business with a real advantage.
Mr. Donatellos photography focuses on portraits, weddings and creative work with Photoshop. Creative Photography refers to shooting elements separately and then putting them together; this is his favorite type of photography. He also uses Photoshop for basic retouching. Although he started out doing film photography, he has since transitioned to taking all digital photography, because he finds digital technology easier to work with. He uses black & white, as well as color, photography depending on how the photo speaks to him.
Mr. Donatello is a solo act with a wide range of clientele. About half of his photo shoots happen in the studio with the other half taking place on location. His hours are mostly by appointment, though he is hoping to run more of a gallery in the afternoons this fall.
Mr. Donatello does have a Facebook page, and a website is in the works. Check out his Facebook page and enjoy his unique talents!
