Blog #6 By Brittany Bousquet

This past week of my writing internship at Main Street has been packed full of exciting assignments. Since my last blog I’ve completed five (yes, five) interviews for articles I’m writing! I also completed an article on Cookies as part of my weekly Dessert Series.

Last week I had the opportunity to interview Carrie Roseman of Carrie Roseman Photography and Michael Donatello of Photography by Donatello. It was exciting to meet both of them and to learn more about their careers. On Monday I met with Kelly Hulse of Kelly’s on the Bank, who graciously agreed to spend time with me for a follow-up interview regarding the article I am writing on this wonderful new business in town. Tuesday I interviewed Barbara Ford of CONNfetti (and purchased note cards from her store!). I also spent time with Jennifer O’Brien at the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut to learn more about New London County Florence Griswold Museum’s Free Week. All of these articles will be posted to the district website shortly (if they aren’t already!). I enjoy sharing my writing with all of you!

On another note, I’ve been having fun helping with promotion of Fish Tales, Tugs & Sails – the children’s event at the waterfront this Saturday from 11am to 4pm. This event is free and offers so many fun activities – you won’t want to miss it! Click here for event details.

Certainly not to be forgotten is my excursion to Daniel’s Dairy Downtown last Friday. Rebecca and I went after work to treat ourselves, and the ice cream was fabulous! We both tried the Extreme Chocolate ice cream in homemade waffle cones, and it was delicious.

So be sure to keep an eye out for my articles as they get posted to the website, and try to find some time to visit downtown New London. It’s a fabulous place with so much going on.
