The Florence Griswold Museum is offering New London County Free Week from July 17 to July 22. During this time period any resident of New London County may go to the museum, show proof of residency, and enjoy all the museum has to offer for free.
The grant is provided by Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. The Florence Griswold Museum responded to Community Foundations general grant program and was awarded a grant. Community Foundation likes to fund access to the arts, and both Community Foundation and the Florence Griswold Museum enjoy bringing people to the museum that might not otherwise visit.
During New London County Free week, attendees can enjoy a special exhibition. On Hudson: Highlights from the Albany Institute of History and Art is an exhibit on exchange from the Albany Institute of History and Art that focuses on 59 works that examine the history and symbolism of the Hudson River Valley. On July 22, painting en plein air is occurring. All visitors who are interested can try their hand at painting down by the river or in Miss Florences garden. All supplies will be provided, and the final masterpiece will be an excellent souvenir to remember the visit.
So spend some time at the Florence Griswold Museum, located at 96 Lyme Street in Old Lyme, CT, and enjoy New London County Free Week.
