I'm almost halfway through my fourth week at New London Main Street, and I'm still loving every minute of it. Every day brings something new and exciting, and there's never a dull moment.

For those of you who don't know, my first article was published to the New London Main Street website, and my second article should be up today. These articles are the first two in a series I'm doing about the origins of desserts and the local bakeries in New London. If you haven't yet had a chance to read them yet, you should! Then, I recommend that you come down to New London to visit our bakeries. I can say from personal experience that the cupcakes at Little Sister's Bake Shop are fabulous.

One of the best parts of my internship is being able to explore New London and meet the people who own the shops and restaurants. I've already been able to meet the staff at the local bakeries, as well as Kim Pettey, owner of Pinc! Boutique. This morning, I interviewed Mark Sebastianelli, the owner of Stone Fleet Tavern. If all goes smoothly, that article should be published to the website by early next week at the latest. Keep an eye out for it, so you can learn about one of downtown New London's newest restaurants. So far, everyone has been incredibly friendly and has welcomed me warmly into New London.

On another note, the New London Main Street office had a visitor this week. On Monday, Rebecca and I found a baby mouse in the office. After calling everyone in the office over, our landlord Barbara came up and caught it for us!

And finally, tonight I have the privilege of attending a New London Main Street Board Orientation Meeting, being held at Tony D's Restaurant. I invite you to read my blog next week to find out how it goes!
